Wallace G. Lee (1933-2005) Retired early as a dentist at age 56 after practicing for 32 years in his hometown of Panguitch. In addition to dentistry, Wallace served his community as Mayor for two terms, and served in many Civic positions as well as Govenor Advisory Council under Both Govenor Rampton and Matheson. He always carried a dream to become an artist but his busy dental practice did not allow, so he retired early at age 56 and pursued that dream until his sudden death of cancer at age 71. He enrolled at Dixie College in St. George, Utah where he studied art under Max Bunell and Del Parson. In a few short years he too became an instructor of art at the college. Adept with all paint mediums, including portraits, Wallace excelled in watercolors. He became well known for his landscape watercolor paintings. Wallace has recieved many recognitions and awards in his short art career on both the local and national levels. Many of his original paintings have been both purchased and donated to the St. George Art Museum and the Springville Art Museum to be preserved for future generations. His son David, has recently opened up The Wallace G. Lee Fine Art Gallery in Provo, where originals and prints are on display. Please feel free to visit the gallery or call Judy at 801-356-7329 for a private tour.
